KEY: Quilt Categories

Number Categories Definitions
100 Wearable/Craft/Home Dec:  Purses, totes, table runners, place mats, vests, mug rugs, tuffets, wallets, Christmas tree skirts, jackets, or anything else that would not qualify as a quilt
200 Miniature:  Traditional quilts made no larger than one-quarter the original size, with the maximum size being 24″ x 24″
300 Art/pictorial:  An original exploration of a concept or idea that may experiment with textile manipulation, color, texture, and/or a diversity of mixed media (Art), or a quilt that makes a picture out of fabric (pictorial)
400 Modern:  Design portrays modern characteristics such as clean lines, minimalism, increased use of solid fabrics, simplicity, asymmetry in design, improvisational piecing, and use of negative space
500 Child’s:  Any size; made for a child aged 0 to 12; may be hand or machine pieced and quilted
600 Machine Embroidered:  Must be more than 60% machine embroidered
700 Hand Quilted:  Any size; entire quilt must be hand quilted; may be hand or machine pieced
800 Large Solitaire, Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 300″ or more that has been made and Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting, Hand-Guided Quilting machine quilted by the same person
900 Large Solitaire, Computerized Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 300″ or more that has been made and quilted by the same person using a computer-aided quilting design
1000 Large Duet, Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 300″ or more than that has been made and Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting machine quilted by two persons
1100 Large Duet, Computerized Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 300″ or more that has been made and machine quilted by two persons using a computer-aided quilting design
1200 Medium Solitaire, Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 240″ to 299″ that has been made and Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting machine quilted by the same person
1300 Medium Solitaire, Computerized Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 240″ to 299″ that has been made and quilted by the same person using a computer-aided quilting design
1400 Medium Duet, Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 240″ to 299″ that has been made and Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting machine quilted by two persons

1700 Small Solitaire, Computerized Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 239″ or less that has been made and quilted by the same person using a computer-aided quilting design
1800 Small Duet, Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 239″ or less that has been made and Non-Computerized, Hand-Guided Quilting machine quilted by two persons
1900 Small Duet, Computerized Quilting: A quilt with a perimeter of 239″ or less that has been made and machine quilted by two persons using a computer-aided quilting design
2100 Challenge Quilt:  Quilt entered for Challenge Quilt–Judged
