Ellen Anne Eddy Workshop
Ellen Anne Eddy Workshop
May 4 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Ellen Anne Eddy is an internationally known fiber artists whose art goes beyond the traditional concept of quilting. In this workshop, you’ll learn almost every technique Ellen uses to make her award winning art, including working with thick-and-thin thread; thread magic appliqué; direct, shagged, and cut-away appliqué; machine beading; and couching.
Each technique will be worked on an 8″ square and then you’ll bind the squares into a book form that can be easily stored and used as a reference. The back of each square is a stabilizer, on which you can write notes.
All you need to bring to this workshop is your sewing machine, which must be able to zigzag, a darning foot, at least 5 empty bobbins, and an extra bobbin case if you have a bobbin-case machine. Ellen will provide threads, stabilizers, fabrics, cloths, and a needle in the supply kit. Ellen will also provide a lesson on cleaning your machine after using these skills.
When you sign up, you can also choose to purchase Ellen’s Creativity booklet for $10, which includes step-by-step instructions, pictures, and charts to further your stitching art designs. The booklet will be available on the day of class for $15.
